Not a huge list of games today unless you got up at 4am!
Radwanska v Jankovic:
JJ leads the head to heads 1-0 although that was on clay 3 years ago.
Both have played some good tennis in recent weeks and have both appeared in hard court finals. Radwanska winnings hers beating Zvonareva and Jankovic losing to Sharapova in 3 sets.
Jankovic won her last match in straight sets but didn’t look too comfortable at times. That was her first match since the US Open.
Radwanska took 3 sets to get past Kerber in the last round. Kerber had put her out of the US Open earlier this month.
Radwanska starts as slight favourite at 1.80 and I expect this to be quite tight. Their stats are fairly similar over the last 3 months. As its so close and I am having difficulty picking a winner I will go with the better priced Jankovic. She has won 5 of her last 6 matches when starting as underdog.
Don’t be surprised to see 3 sets.
Update: Jankovic won an early break and held on to take the set. Radwanska levelled at 1 set all. In the third it was surprisngly one sided and Radwanska took it to 0.
Radwanska won 2-6, 6-4, 6-0.
Baghdatis v Devvarman:
Baggy had a tricky first set against Bogomolov but came through in a tie break. Once his serve got going he looked more comfortable.
Devvarman also had a tight match against Ledovskikh with just a single break seperating them.
Baghdatic leads the head to heads 2-1 with all their matches being played on hard courts. They most recently played last month and it was a 3 setter which Baghdatis won.
Devarrman has lost 4 of his last 5 matches as an under dog and Naghdatis has won 4 of his last 5 as a favourite.
In their last match Baghdatis started as a 1.74 favourite but today is 1.34 . That price reflects their respective current form but does seema little low. Also affecting the price though is Devvarman’s problem with his shoulder injury.
Half stake from the start as I think we could get a higher price in the first couple of games to top up the back on Baghdatis. I expect a fairly comfortable win.
Update: Very tight match. Baghdatis won 7-5, 6-4.
