Wednesday’s Matches

Rochus v Mahut

A lot of the players not putting much effort into this tournament so they’re not easy to predict. However Rochus leads the head to heads 4-2  here. He normally doesn’t do well as a favourite and has lost his last 4 when expected to win.  Mahut played very well in his last match and won’t be rolling over.

Rochus reached the final last year where he lost to Fish and with some of the higher ranked players going out already he must feel he has a good chance of getting to the final again. This should be very close if Mahut cancontinue his form. He was injured for his Queens Club and Wimbledon campaigns so that may be playing on his mind if not fully recovered.

Rochus to win in 2 tight sets.

Update: Rochus started well but then tried his best to throw the led away. He won 6-4, 7-6.

Isner has to be the call in his match against Clement. Clement came through against a disappointing Harrison last night but didn’t look convincing in the rallies. Isner breezed through his first round match and Clement won’t be able to handle the American’s serve. Its just a matter of how Isner returns serve but Clement only needed to be average last night. Not good preparation for the Frenchman.

Isner in 2 sets. I’ll back from the start.

Update: Isner won 7-6, 6-4.

More to come….Well…I had every intention of posting another match but was distracted by my new phone ( yes like a big kid at Christmas)
