ATP Wimbledon, 13:45 – Seppi v Coric
Strong performance from Seppi in the last round though it was against weak opposition. Brydan Klein is ranked 175th.
Coric’s numbers were not spectacular considering how poorly Stakhovsky played. He still needed 5 sets.
I favour Seppi to win this one but also expect the sets to be close. We will see at least 1 tie break.
Back Seppi if Coric takes the opening set.
WTA Wimbledon, 15:45 – Kuznetsova v Kr Pliskova
Kuznetsova isn’t usually too good on grass but has performed well this year. She reached the third round in Birmingham and Eastbourne.
Pliskova is looking to go one better than her twin sister who was dumped out of the tournament yesterday. She has a good game for grass but her recent results haven’t been great. She took advantage of a real meltdown by Smitkova in the last round. Smitkova was in control of the match and served for the win in set 2.
This one could be close. Kuznetsova starts too low. Lay her if she gets an early break.
Kuznetsova will have to play a poor match if she is to lose this one.
