ATP Wimbledon, 11:30 – Tsonga v Muller
Muller leads their previous meetings 2-1. The most recent was in 2014 on an indoor hard court, Tsonga won in 2. They have never played on grass.
Tsonga had a great French Open reaching the semi finals. He reached the 4th round at Wimbledon last year.
Muller has had a good season so far. He reached the quarter finals at Queens Club and the semi finals in Holland.
This could be a long match if they both serve well. Four or 5 sets. I expect Muller to take at least a set. If only we knew which one! I will wait for a higher price on Tsonga. He hasn’t played on grass since Wimbledon last year so may take a little time to settle.
Tsonga starts around 1.51 .
ATP Wimbledon, 13:00 – Stakhovsky v Coric
Head to heads are 1-1. Both matches were in 2015. Coric won in 3 sets on clay and Stakhovsky in 2 sets on a hard court.
Stakhovsky reached the third round last week beating Troicki and Johnson. His over all record on grass is average.
Coric has won just 1 of his 6 matches on grass.
Stakhovsky is understandably the favourite but 1.27 is too low. Coric has a decent game for grass once he gets comfortable on the surface.
Lay Stakhovsky below 1.20
WTA Wimbledon, 17:30 – Bacsinszky v Goerges
Head to head are 1-1. Their most recent was in 2010 on a hard court. Bacsinszky won in 3 sets. Goerges won in 2010 on clay in 2 sets.
Bacsinszky has won 8 of her last 10 on grass. She hasn’t played on this surface since reaching the 2nd round last year.
Goerges reached the 3rd round at Wimbledon in 2012 and 2011. She lost in the 1st round last year. If her serve is working well she can keep this competitive but without it she doesn’t have much to trouble Bacsinszky. If her serve doesn’t work the rest of her shots follow suit.
Back Bacsinszky if she is broken early. She is also worth backing if she goes a break behind in any set.
