Due to start at 10:30 am
Jabeur 2.84, Vekic 1.53
Jabeur won their only previous meeting. That was in October 2014 in LInz, Austria. She won in straight sets on an indoor hard court.
Overall results are quite even but slightly favour Vekic. Her lead is a bit bigger on hard courts. She has won 55% of her hard court matches in 2018 compared to 41% for Jabeur. She reached the semi finals in Tokyo two weeks ago. This week she beat Sakkari in straight sets in the first round.
Jabeur has come through the qualifying rounds beating Maria and Puig in straight sets. She beat Halep in the main draw when Halep retired after set 1.
I have to favour Vekic but she will have to work hard. Back her above 1.75.
Update: Vekic was a break ahead three times in the first set but in the end needed a tie break to win the set. She took a 5-0 lead in the second set but Jabeur got back on serve at 4-5. Vekic broke for the match.
Vekic won 7-6, 6-4.
