WTA Madrid Open, Q Final: Cibulkova v Cirstea (14:00)

Cibulkova has 3 from 4 of their previous meetings. Their last match was in July 2013. She won in straight sets on a hard court.

It was another slow start for Cibulkova in the last round as she won just 2 games in the opening set. She took advantage of Pavlyuchenkova needing a medical time out to break serve in the second set. It was a very tight third set. Cibulkova served for the match but was broken. Pavlyuchenkova couldn’t hold her serve though and Cibulkova served out the match at the second attempt.

Cirstea’s great run continued with a straight sets win over in form Siegemund. I think we see 3 sets here but I favour Cibulkova to find a way to win again.

Back Cibulkova when she is broken first.

Hello, my friend! I follow your blog for years, never commented before but just wanted to make a small correction… Cibulkova didn’t win all their previous 4 matches… She won 3 and Cirstea won 1… Keep up your good work, mate! Greetins from Portugal…

    1. Hi Daniel,
Yes you’re right! Not sure how I managed to read that wrong. I have corrected the post. Thanks for the feedback 🙂
