Has Kasatkina’s play been making her opponents look bad?
Due to start at 8:30 pm
Kasatkina 2.68, Kvitova 1.58
This will be their first meeting.
Overall results favour Kvitova in the last 12 months and also in 2018. She has won 81% of her matches in 2018 compared to 62% for Kasatkina. On clay Kvitova also leads in 2018 with 83% of matches won compared to 62% for Kasatkina.
Kasatkina beat Muguruza in the last round. It was a scrappy match which had 29 break points. It was a poor effort from Muguruza who had to work harder for her service holds. In the previous round Cirstea had also been a little poor against Kasatkina. She is putting her opponents under pressure, something that she has struggled to do on clay this season.
Kvitova was put under pressure by Kontaveit in the last round. Kontaveit took their opening set in a tie break. In the previous round Puig kept both sets close. Kvitova won the title in Prague last week and I thought she might tire this week. No real signs of that so far but this will be her toughest test.
Back Kvitova above 1.85.
Update: Kvitova won 6-4, 6-0. We didn’t get the entry price.
