Riske should challenge Kerber but the German will come out on top
Due to start at 5:30 pm
Riske 3.00, Kerber 1.47
Kerber has won all 3 of their previous matches. Their last meeting was in Eastbourne on grass in June 2014. She won in 2 close sets.
Much stronger results for Kerber in the last 12 months and also in 2018.
Riske has played well on grass this year. She has 9 wins from 10 matches. She won an ITF grass title 2 weeks ago. Last week in Hertogenbosch she got to the quarter finals losing to Vandeweghe in a third set tie break. This week she has come through the qualifying rounds.
Kerber reached the final at Wimbledon in 2016 and the 4th round last year. The last time she failed to reach the quarter final in her first grass tournament of the year was back in 2013 when she lost in the second round at Eastbourne.
If Kerber is interested she wins this but Riske has been playing well enough to put her under pressure. Back Kerber above 1.75.
