Konta won their only previous meeting in September last year. She won the opening set on a hard court before Azarenka retired in the second set.
Azarenka has lost just 1 of her 20 matches this year. That was to Kerber in the Australian Open final.
Konta has lost 4 matches this year and the only one where she didn’t win a set was also to Kerber in Melbourne.
Its hard to see Konta winning this but can she take a set? Muguruza took Azarenka to 2 tie break sets in the last round. About the only thing working in Konta’s favour is that Azarenka has played a lot of tennis already this year and won the title in Indian Wells. She can often pick up niggling small injuries after a lot of matches.
I think we will see Azarenka trade higher so a lay around 1.20 could work. Back Azarenka if she goes a break behind.
