WTA Rogers Cup, Toronto: Radwanska v Vandeweghe (7:30pm)

Radwanska leads their previous matches 4-1. They last met in Birmingham in June  2016 on grass. Vandeweghe won in 3 sets.  All Radwanska’s wins were in straight sets.

Vandeweghe has better overall results in 2017. Her hard court stats are also better. Vandeweghe reached the final last week in Stanford. She lost to Keys in straight sets after beating Pavlyuchenkova and in form Bellis. She made the quarter final at Wimbledon and also in Birmingham. She is in her best form of the season.

Can Vandeweghe continue her strong form in Toronto?

Radwanska has not had a great season. She started 2017 well with a quarter final in Shenzhen. The week after that she was in the final in Sydney. She then had a really poor run of results by her standards but found a little form at Wimbledon where she reached the 4th round. She has a good record at the Rogers Cup. She won the title in 2014 but lost to Pavlyuchenkova in the second round last year.

Vandeweghe playing the final last week is the only real doubt about her taking this match. If she is not fatigued she should be too strong in her current form. :

Lay Radwanska if she breaks first. I’d want to back Vandeweghe above 2.00
