Running a little late (again). There just aren’t enough hours in the day sometimes!

ATP Rome, 11:00Murray has a couple of matches under his belt now on clay. The market has a lot of faith in him as he starts at 1.36 against Granollers.

Granollers beat him last season at this venue when Murray retired having leveled the match at one set all. If an injured Murray could fight back I suppose it follows that a less injured Murray has a good chance?

I will be surprised if we don’t get the chance of backing Murray at a higher price. Whether I take that opportunity remains to be seen but as we are waiting for a higher entry we get a chance to see how he is playing. Unless he looks very uncomfortable he is worth backing when a break behind.

ATP Rome, 14:00Golubev showed he has some clay court skills when he knocked out Verdasco in the first round. Today he is up against Youzhny who has a strong head to head record over him. Youzhny leads 4-1 although Golubev won their most recent meeting which was in 2012 at the Australian Open. They have never played on clay.

Youzhny’s season hasn’t been one of his best and he has been struggling with injury from the first tournament of 2014. The market has him as favourite at 1.65 but I expect him to trade well above that today.

Three sets look a real possibility but I am slightly favouring Golubev.
