WTA Nurnberger Versicherungscup, 14:00 – Lisicki v Soler Espinosa
Lisicki’s only recent win on clay was over Stephens last week. Stephens was 4-1 up in the first set but went into meltdown and lost in 2 sets.
Soler Espinosa is the better clay courter but her recent form is poor. She has won 1 of her last 10. She did take Gavrilova to 3 sets last week.
I think we see a higher price on Lisicki but this match is Lisicki’s to win or lose. Three sets are possible. I am looking to back Lisicki when she is a break behind.
ATP Geneva Open, 15:30 – Baghdatis v Bellucci
Baghdatis leads the head to heads 2-1. Their most recent meeting was in 2012. It was on a hard court and Baghdatis retired early in the second set.
Baghdatis has never been as at home on clay as he is on a hard court. He has had very limited success on clay and has won just 20 of his last 50 matches on the surface.
Bellucci has been in strong recent form. He reached the third round as a qualifier last week and took Djokovic to 3 sets.
Bellucci is too low but should take the match. Back Bell above 1.60
