WTA AEGON International, 14:30 – Strycova v Errani
Errani leads their previous matches 4-1. She has won their last 3. ( 2 on clay and 1 on a hard court.
Errani isn’t at her best on grass and as she has been having problems with her serve this season she will be at a disadvantage today.
Strycova has a good game for grass and will usually serve well.
Its a tempting price though on Errani and I will lay Strycova at the start for a trade. If Errani breaks, remove your liability on Strycova and green up if Errani takes the set.
3 sets looks a good possibility.
WTA AEGON International, 17:30 – Gavrilova v Giorgi
Gavrilova gets a lucky loser place as Kvitova withdrew due to illness.
Gavrilova beat Laura Robson in the qualifying rounds losing just 1 game! She showed in Rome that she can compete with the top players. She beat Bencic, Ivanovic and Bacsinszky.
Giorgi won the title in Holland 2 weeks ago and had a comfortable win over McHale in the first round this week.
Gavrilova is a bit of an unknown quantity on grass but has shown she is ready to make a breakthrough. This could be entertaining.
Back Giorgi when a break behind.
