I missed the start of the early matches due to dog duties ( among others) and decided to trade the Australia v England T20 cricket. Backed Australia at evens just before England’s innings went tits up so thats a nice start to the day.
so that leaves me with just 6 WTA matches left and two of those are covered for the tips service.
Pavlyuchenkova came so close to losing to Suarez Navarro in the last round. I had tipped her for the win and I think it was one of the most frustrating finishes to a match that I can remember. She finally got the job done in 3 sets.
Kerber dealt with Zakopalova fairly easily in 2 sets with a late break securing the win. She won 2 of the 3 matches that she payed against Pavlyuchenkova last season. They were 1-1 on hard courts with Kerber’s win being handed to her by a Pavlyuchenkova retirement in the second set.
1.35 on Kerber looks way too short for this one. I’d expect her to get the win but I don’t want to back her below 1.60 . An early break for Pav would be nice.
Update: Pavlyuchenkova won 5-7, 6-3, 7-6.
I’m not sure that Date Krumm will have much left in the tank to worry Makarova. Makarova’s start price of 1.18 isn’t tempting at all but i will monitor it in case Krumm gets an early lead and we can get a better price on Makarova.
Update: Makarova won 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
The late match in Paris is Errani against Svitolina. I thought Errani would struggle against Knapp yesterday as I felt she would be ready for a short rest after the Australian Open doubles success. I was wrong and she looked up for the match right from the start. She was helped by a below par performance from Knapp.
Svitolina knocked out Errani’s doubles partner in 3 sets and in the last round she was too strong for a jaded Voskoboeva.
Errani’s start price of 1.45 is almost value. If I can get above 1.60 I will be very happy with that as if she plays like she did yesterday she will take her place in the semi final.
Svitolina will make her work harder than Knapp did but I think Errani’s consistency will grind her opponent down.
Update: Errani won 6-2, 6-3.
