Aegon International – Thursday

17:30 – Llodra v Simon

Rankings are 46 and 32. Head to heads are 4-0 to Llodra.

LLodra reached the quarter finals of the Aegon Championships last week, losing to Mardy Fish. He beat Cilic in the third round there. He also reached the final of the Challenger event in Bordeaux where he lost to Gasquet.

Simon has been away from the main tour since March and before this week hadn’t won an ATP  match in 2010. In his first 2 matches this week he was taken to three sets with the last match being against a qualifier. He is the type of player who suffers badly from a lack of confidence. The fact that he has yet to beat Llodra in 4 attempts will prey on his mind.

Llodra’s first serve percentage is good at 62% and he wins 80% of his service games.

Back Llodra from the start. His current price of 1.56 is very generous.

Alternatively back him on serve.

If you back from the start make sure you have a strategy for what to do if it goes against you.

Simon is really up against it here.

Update: Lodra won 6-1, 6-3.
