ATP Barcelona Open, Final: Nadal v Nishikori (16:30)

Nadal has dominated their meetings and leads 8-1.

Their last match saw Nadal win in March this year. That was on a hard court  and he won in straight sets. Nishikori’s win was in August 2015. He won in straight sets on a hard court.

In 2014 they played in the Madrid final. Nishikori took it to a third set and looked like the stronger player but his body let him down. He retired in the third set.

Nadal hasn’t dropped a set. His energy levels seem fine despite his title win last week and the tough final against Monfils. Nishikori also hasn’t dropped a set. He has only been broken 3 times in 4 matches with 2 of those going to Chardy.

I can see this being a great match and hopefully we get 3 sets. Nadal is playing better than he was last year.

Back Nadal if he gets broken first.
