Simon leads their previous meetings 5-4. Their last match was on grass in Eastbourne in 2014. Benneteau won in straight sets. Simon leads 2-1 indoors but the matches were several years ago.
Benneteau has struggled to find some consistency after his return from injury but he more recent form has been much better. He has done well in Challengers. He has come through the qualifying rounds this week.
Simon’s only successful week in Paris was in 2012 when he reached the semi finals. He usually loses in the 2nd round. This is tough to call as I think Benneteau has a chance to take the match to 3 sets.
I expect to see a higher price on Simon. Back him if he gets broken.
