Bellucci 1.80, Zeballos 2.18
Bellucci won their only previous meeting. That was in Quito, Ecuador in February 2015. He won on clay in a third set tie break.
Bellucci is starting to get back into his rhythm after his 5 month ban for using a banned substance. He played well in Buenos Aires and made it through the qualifying rounds before losing in 3 sets in the second round to Diego Schwartzman. Last week in Rio he gave Fognini a tough ride in 3 sets.
Zeballos has won just 2 of his 7 matches in 2018. He didn’t have a terrible season on clay in 2017 winning 60% of his 42 matches.
I favour Bellucci to win this one. Back him above 1.95. He reached the semi finals in 2014 but has lost in the first round every year since then. Time for that to change. He needs to start making things up to his Brazilian fans.
Update: Zeballos won the opening set in a tie break. Bellucci fought back to take the second but it was Zeballos who won 7-6, 3-6, 6-3.
