ATP Indian Wells, Third Round: Djere v Kecmanovic

Due to start at 9 pm

Djere 2.04, Kecmanovic 1.94

This will be their first meeting.

Their overall results are quite even in the last 12 months and also in 2019. Kecmanovic has stronger hard court results.

Kecmanovic plays mainly Challenger tournaments. He lost in the qualifying rounds to in form Giron in a 3rd set tie break. As lucky loser he beat Marterer in the main draw without facing a single break point.

Djere doesn’t have great hard court results. He has won 31% of his hard court matched since her turned pro. He beat Andreozi in the last round in straight sets.

I give Kecmanovic the edge. Back him around 2.10.

Update: Kecmanovic went 0-30 down in his first service game and our entry price was easily reached. He held serve a broke the Djere serve in the next game. He won the set 6-2.  Kecmanovic twice went a break ahead in set 2 but was immediately broken back each time. It looked like Djere was the stronger player for the rest of the set. With Kecmanovic serving at 3-4 Djere had 2 break points but didn’t take them. Kecmanovic also faced a break point which was also a set point in his next service game.

The set went to a tie break that Kecmanovic won comfortably.

He won 6-2, 7-6.
