Paire has won both their previous meetings. The most recent was in April 2016 on clay in Barcelona. He won in straight sets.
Cuevas has better over all stats this year. He made a slow start to the season but then really found his form in his run to the title in Sao Paolo recently. That boosted his confidence and he has carried the form over to the hard courts.
Paire did it the other way round. He started well with his new coach but had faded a little. Paire did well for us in the last round beating Klizan as underdog and I see value on him here to take a set.
I would give a slight edge to Cuevas for the win. Backing servers is an option.
Cuevas starts around 1.60. Look to lay him around 1.40 in the early games and remove liability if he is then broken.
