Back online! ATP previews from Doha and Chennai

Well I was without internet access for almost all of yesterday. Finally got connected at around 8pm! They give themselves a window of 8am to midnight which didn’t fill me with confidence anyway. It didn’t take more than an hour and a half when the BT guys installed the fibre connection in the first place a few years ago.

Anyway I am just about back on track though I had no trading last night as i tried to get the trading advice email done . I needed some sleep after being awake for the best part of 48 hours.

ATP Qatar, Doha, 12:30 – Chardy v Mathieu

Chardy leads the head to heads 3-2. Their most recent match was in July last season. That was on clay and Mathieu won in straight sets. They have only played on a hard court once which was back in 2010. Chardy won in 3 sets.

Matt had more of a work out in his first match beating Ramos in a third set tie break.  He served fairly well though had 7 double faults.

Chardy had a very easy first match dropping just 2 games. He was broken though! perhaps he fell asleep.

I’d expect Chardy to take this but he will probably trade higher than his 1.41 SP . Three sets looks fairly likely. .

Lay the set 1 winner.

ATP Chennai, 14:30 – Millman v Bautista Agut

This is their first meeting.

It was a semi final finish last year for Agut. He was a little disappointing in 2015 over all after an excellent 2014. I think he bounces back this year.

Millman can serve well and has already played a match which he won in a third set tie break. His serve was a little rusty and he hit 5 double faults.

I can see this going to 3 sets. No value on Agut unless he loses set 1.
