Tennis Point Exhibition Series

There will be some tennis Exhibition events starting with an 8 player round robin event at the German Tennis Academy from Friday.

There are no lines judges and no ball kids. There are also, obviously, no fans. Just the two players and the umpire. However the matches are being streamed online.

The highest ranked player in the 4 day tournament is 148th ranked German player Yannick Hanfmann. Dustin Brown is also competing. They are playing a changed format of best of 3 sets with the sets being the first to 4 games. There will be no advantage played from Deuce.

The series should prove to be an interesting one as it is a small step towards a proper return to main tour tennis.

The Telegraph reported that,

The players at the Tennis Point Exhibition Series will have to wear masks when not in action and there will only be two competitors and a chair umpire allowed on court during a match.

The tournament will feature an eight-man draw contesting a total of 32 matches over four days on indoor clay at the Base Tennis Academy near the small town of Höhr-Grenzhausen, situated about 10 km northeast of Koblenz. The Tennis Channel will broadcast the matches while scores will be streamed for betting through data company Sportradar.

There will be prize money involved.

It is also reported that the German and Austrian Tennis Federations are set to organise a 6 week exhibition series with 32 players including Thiem, Kohlschreiber and Struff. There will also be 24 WTA players involved. The Austrian even is due to start on May 5th and the German one starts on June 8th.

TradeShark Diary, 30th April 2020

I don’t have many tasks left that need doing for the business. One was to go through my spreadsheet of the Trading Tips subscribers and work out how many days they have to carry over to when the tennis starts up. It is a long list as the service has grown in popularity each year. It also includes people who purchase the Trading Guide as they get Trading Tips with their purchase. I was adding a couple of new subscribers to the spreadsheet and started updating some of the members. I thought that I may as well carry on and have now updated everyone’s entry with how many email days they have left.

Diary

I made my first trade since the lock down last night. The BATE match saw the strong favourites at home and 1-0 down from the 1st leg of the semi final. Surely we would see a couple of goals!. I gave myself a £200 bank to play with and backed over 2.5 at evens at the start. That was a bit lazy and would normally wait 10 minutes but on this occasion it worked out. An early goal for the home team was a decent start. As the match approached half time I was beginning to think I had made a mistake. An own goal just before the break got me out of trouble and I greened up. Almost 50% profit. The match ended 2-0.

This afternoon I saw there was a match in Turkmenistan! I’m not sure I could point that place out on a map! I had a quick look on Twitter and people seemed to be expecting 2 or 3 goals. Again, an early lay of under 2.5 goals was a lazy entry but there was another early goal! An equaliser before half time gave me over 80% greened profit. I have more than doubled my money in 2 trades.

That has been my day so far. I’ve done a bit of reading. I googled for a way to contact a real person at Twitter. My account is still suspended. I found a site that claims to have a contact at Twitter. I filled in an email message and they reckon that they have sent it to Twitter. I won’t hold my breath.

Sue has a shopping list for me so I am off to join the queue at Tesco.

Have a good evening and stay safe.
