This will be their first meeting.

Overall results are quite even in the last 12 months but favour Kecmanovic. He has much better hard court results. 62% v 44% matches won.

Kecmanovic beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the last round. His first serve was excellent and he didn’t face a single break point. Tsonga wasn’t 100% fit.

Fucsovics has come through the qualifying rounds and beat Frances Tiafoe as underdog in the main draw. Also beat wild card Cem Ilkel as strong favourite yesterday. He has had to work very hard for some of his service holds in his 4 matches.

The sets could be tight but I have to favour Kecmanovic to win. Back him around 1.95.

WTA ASB Classic, Auckland – Gauff v Siegemund

Cori Gauff 1.46, Laura Siegemund 3.15

Due to start at 11pm.

This will be their first meeting.

Stronger 12 month results for Gauff. She won 67% of her matches. Siegemund won 55% of hers.

Gauff had more success on hard courts in 2019. She reached the 3rd round at the US Open. Her other strong hard court results were in ITF events. She won 62% of hard court matches. She has not played a lot of matches on hard courts but her game suits the surface well.

Siegemund’s hard court record is poor. She has a losing record on hard courts in her career and won half her matches in 2019. She did have a comfortable win over Lucky Loser Catherine McNally in the last round.

Back Gauff around 1.75 to 1.85. She will need to be focused but has the ability to control this match.
