12:30 – Zakopalova v Li
Rankings are 51 and 11. They haven’t played before.
Zakopalova has breezed past her last 2 opponents. Cirstea was very poor in the quarter finals but Zakopalova played a decent match.
Li hasn’t lost a set this week. In the quarter final she lost serve in the very first game but that was the only game that Kerber won in that set. She has been hitting the ball very well and her serve has been pretty solid especially when the pressure is on.
Li starts at 1.22 on Betfair which is a little low to back from the start. I will be laying her from the first game and hoping for another slow start. If she gets broken early I will then be backing her at the higher price.
Zakopalova will have to play the game of her life to beat the in form Li.
Update: Li was very poor in the first set. She picked up well in the second but Zakopalova was too strong for her in the third.
Zak won 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
