Well I expected a little more from Stosur this morning although a lay from the start gave some profit. Wish I had left it though! Injury to Monfils gave a bit more easy money which I didn’t expect during the first set as neither player was playing well. And A Rad has just taken the opening set 6-1. I wish all days were this easy.

Nishikori beat Davydenko in 3 sets at the London Olympics. I would expect that this match being played on a hard  court should swing things slightly in Davydenko‘s favour as this is his strongest surface.  He reached the semi finals in Metz and hasn’t lost a set so far this week.

Nishikori started slowly against against Ramos losing the opening set in a tie break but he took control in sets 2 and 3.

I think this will be very close and 3 sets are likely. As Nishikori starts at 1.62 I think its worth a lay from the start. I give a slight edge to Davydenko if he can keep up his recent level of play.

Both Tomic and Gasquet had to recover from poor opening sets in their last matches. Tomic played a fantastic match in the first round but couldn’t reach the same level against Sela.

Gasquet made an expected slow start in his first match after the US Open and was a set and 2-5 down in his match with Dimitrov before turning things around ( with a  lot of help from Dimi )

In his last 3 hard court tournaments Gasquet has faltered at the quarter final stage. He needed Dimitrov’s level of play to drop yesterday to let him back into the match. 1.39 on Gasquet is way too low and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tomic take this one. More than likely to be 3 sets and has to be a lay of Gasquet to start with for me.
