Rain delays in Malaysia. It’s AGES since we had a rain delay…… Plenty alternative tournaments this week with almost 24 hour tennis available.
There aren’t many inspiring matches today though.
For a while Mathieu looked like he may find some of the old form that saw him ranked 12 in 2008. He hasn’t been playing good tennis recently though.
Seppi pulled out of Zagreb with some sort of virus and not surprisingly lost his first match after that. He should be back to full fitness now but that is the reason we are getting a slightly higher SP than we would have had otherwise.
If we can get on Seppi around or above evens its well worth a shot.
Niculescu starts at 1.60 against Medina Garrigues. If the Spaniard entered a competition where the prize went to the person called Medina Garrigues she would struggle to win it. Recently she has looked like she had matches won and managed to throw them away.
MG leads the head to head against Niculescu so she will be hoping to find a rare 2013 win. I can see Niculescu’s price being pushed higher in the early stages of the match and as long as she is serving well I favour the Romanian. The lead will probably change hands several times so the higher the entry point the less stressful the trades!
