Both matches show as an 11am start on Betfair. Flashscores show the games as being 11am and 1pm but have the wrong matchups! Is it really so difficult to get this info right??
Federer plays Soderling at 11 GMT and Nadal plays Berdych at 1pm GMT.
Soderling played and served pretty well yesterday but was unable to break Tsonga in the second set which he lost in a tie break. He will need to be at the top of his game to beat Federer and can’t allow his level to drop. If he can keep his serve at the same level as yesterday then he has a chance.
Fed ended the year strongly and I’d expect him to take the match but may take 3 sets to do it if the Swede brings his A-Game to the court.
Berdych will be fairly happy with his form yesterday but he was a break up in both the second and third sets and allowed Baghdatis back into the match. He pretty much folded in the second set but was mentally stronger in the deciding set. He can be certain today that his opponent will not hand him the match as Baggy did.
Nadal has won their last 8 matches and hasn’t lost to Berdych since 2006 which was before the Spaniard’s rise to the top.
Nadal to win in straight sets.
Update: Soderling took the first set in a tie break but Fed came back to take the next 2 sets. Federer won 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
Nadal took a tight first set and was running away with the second. He was 2 breaks up but Berdych pulled a break back. After the first set the result was never in doubt. Nadal won 6-4, 6-4.
