13:00 – Karlovic v Kohlschreiber
Rankings are 73 and 34. Head to heads are 1-1.
Karlovic is well past his best but still has a huge serve. Unfortunately thats’s about all he has left. Kohlschreiber needs to get to grips with that serve early. In the last round Karlovic had 7 break points against him against Rosol so I expect the German to break down the serve more than once.
Kohlschreiber breezed past Seppi in the last round and although Seppi is more a clay courter he had a decent hard court season last year and is rarely a pushover.
The first set could be close and possibly a tie break so backing the server in the first set should be fine. As I said I expect Kohlschreiber to break so be careful if backing Karlovic.
Alternatively, back Kohlschreiber from the start. If you take this option make sure you have your strategy for what to do if things go against you. Suggestions can be found in the members area of TradeShark Tennis.
Update: This match was one of those affected by frozen scoreboards especially in the first set. This made it a bit of a gamble to trade although I took a small profit just before the score info dried up.
Kohlschreiber wasn’t able to break the Karlovic serve and we had 3 tie break sets with Karlovic taking the match. 7-6, 6-7, 7-6.
