WTA Rio Open, 2nd round: Hercog v Cirstea (16:30)

Cirstea has won both their previous matches. They haven’t played since 2012 when Hercog retired after the opening set.

Cirstea’s tactic of playing ITF tournaments at the start of the year has worked for her. It has helped her confidence and she seems to be striking the ball much better.

Hercog is strong on clay. She had a comfortable first match beating Brady in straight sets. I would expect her to win this one but it will be tight.

Back Hercog if she gets broken first or loses set 1
