WTA Rogers Cup, Toronto: Pliskova v Pavlyuchenkova (6pm)

Pliskova has won all 4 of their previous meetings. They last met at the US Open in August last year. She won in straight sets. All their matches ended in 2 sets.

Pliskova has better overall results this season and her recent form is stronger. On hard courts they are more even with both winning 8 of their last 10 matches.

Pliskova has had an excellent season. Her most recent success was a title in Eastbourne on grass. She was disappointing at Wimbledon and lost in the

second round in 3 sets to Rybarikova. This is her first match since that match.

Pavlyuchenkova has had success on clay and hard courts this year. She struggled in the grass season. Last week she reached the quarter finals in Stanford where she lost out to Vandeweghe in straight sets.  This week she beat Cornetin 2 very one sided sets, losing just 1 game.

This should be close. Pliskova reached the 3rd round last year and Pavlyuchenkova reached the quarter finals. Pavlyuchenkova has raised her levels this year and I think we have value on her to take a set.

Back Pliskova if she gets broken. She starts around 1.50.
