This will be their first meeting.
Ranked 229th Tara Moore plays most of her tennis on the ITF tour. She does well on all surfaces but it’s a tough step up in the quality of opponent that the main tour brings. In May she reached the final of the ITF grass event in Eastbourne. In the WTA Nottingham tournament she won her way through the qualifying rounds and beat Vekic and McHale in the main draw. She ran out of steam as she had played a lot of tennis in those 2 weeks. She gets a wild card entry this week.
Van Uytvanck’s form has not been good in 2016 and she has had injury problems. She was out for over 2 months from the end of March and returned for the grass season. She has lost all 3 of her main draw grass matches and lost them in 3 sets. She had a couple of wins in qualifying matches including a straight sets win over Shvedova.
If both ladies play their best tennis this could be an entertaining match. Van Uytvanck can serve big and I am really surprised that her grass record is so poor. The home crowd will try to give Moore a boost and I think the initial value is on her.
Van Uytvanck starts around 1.67. Lay her if she breaks first. Three sets seem likely. If you lay Van Uytvanck and Moore breaks back you should look to reduce or remove your liability. A lay of the 1st set winner seems a decent option as long as the set was competitive.
