Petkovic leads their previous matches 4-1. They last played in Antwerp in February 2015. Petkovic won in straight sets on an indoor court. Cibulkova won on a hard court at the year end tournament in 2012. They have never played on grass.
There is not too much between them this season. Cibulkova won the title in
Eastbourne last year and then reached the quarter finals at Wimbledon but has not been playing at that level recently. She has lost all 3 of her grass matches this year. All as favourite.
Petkovic has played a couple of ITF grass events this season to prepare for this week. She reached the semi finals in one of them.
We have some value on Petkovic to take a set.
Cibulkova may lift her level this week but she won’t have an easy ride. Lay Cibulkova if she breaks first and remove liability if Petkovic then breaks back and holds her own serve.
