Kvitova leads their previous meetings 4-2. Their most recent match was in March 2014 on a hard court which Cibulkova won in straight sets. She won their last 2 meetings on hard courts.
Kvitova is playing her best tennis this week. Only Kerber has been able to take a set from her. When she is in this mood and keeping her big ground strokes under control she can beat anyone.
Cibulkova has had to work a lot harder for her place in the final with 4 of her 5 matches going to 3 sets. She hit 8 double faults yesterday against Kuznetsova.
If Kvitova continues with the tennis that got her to the final then she wins this. The market is assuming that she will and I am not really comfortable backing at 1.38. Normally I would wait for her to be broken before backing but she hasn’t been easy to break this week. I will put a part of my stake at the start and will add the rest if we do get a Cibulkova break.
