Confidence rating 6.5/10 *Maria is in excellent grass form. She took a set from Rybakina in London last week. She seems to ,like conditions at that tournament and was defending champion. Doesn’t reach the same level elsewhere.

Maria 1-0 (Feb 2023, hard, 2 sets). Grass win %’s favour Yastremska.

Yastremska reached the Final last season. 2 sets win over a lucky loser in the 1st round.
2nd round in hertogenbosch 2026. 3rd Round at Wimbledon 2025, Quarter finals in Eastbourne 2025.

Maria had an easy win over Tjen in the 1st round.
She reached the 2nd round at Queens Club 2026. CH final in July.

12 month grass stats favour Yastremska overall. Good chance of 3 sets.
Lay Maria around 1.55 and remove liability at 2.00.

Match prediction: Yastremska in 3 sets.

Update: Yastremska served first and held after being taken to deuce.

Yastremska saved a break point but was broken. I laid Maria at 1.53.

Maria held to 15. Yastremska then went 15-40 behind and I hedged for a loss at 1.30 . She was broken to 15.

Maria held to 15. Yastremska was taken to deuce and was broken for a third time.

Stats for Yastremska was obviously poor. Despite a low first serve percentage, Maria had lost just 2 points on serve.

My confidence rating on this match indicated that I wasn’t certain which way this would go. There had been several players so far this week that were not giving 100% and were probably saving themselves for Wimbledon. I stayed out of the second set.

In the second set, the first 2 games were holds but Yastremska would not hold again. Maria was broken when serving for the set at 5-1.

Maria won 6-1, 6-2.
