Linette (2.74) v Brady (1.57)

Brady leads their previous matches 2-1. They last met in August 2019 in Cincinnati. Brady won on a hard court in 3 sets. Linette’s win was on a hard court in 2018 at the Australian Open. She won in 3 sets.

Both players have strong results in the last 12 months and also in 2020. They have both won 73% of matches this season.

Brady’s hard court results are a little better in 2020. She reached the quarter finals in Brisbane and the semi finals in Dubai.

Linette won the hard court title in WTA Hua Hin, Thailand in February.

Both players had comfortable wins in the last round. Brady had a surprisingly easy win over Heather Watson and Linette beat Lauren Davis in straight sets.

We have some value on Linette and I think we could see 3 sets. I give a slight edge to Brady to win. Back Brady around 1.95 but if she gets a very early break of serve, lay her and remove liability at 1.55.

Update: A very one sided match. Brady took a double break 5-1 lead. She was broken serving for the set but broke again. A single break in the second set was enough to take a close set.
Brady won 6-2, 6-3.

 

Zidansek (1.92) v Siniakova (2.06)

Head to heads are 1-1. Their last match was in May 2019. Zidansek won in straight sets on a clay court. Siniakova’s win was on clay in 2014.

Overall results favour Siniakova in the last 12 months. Zidansek has had injury issues in the last year. Zidansek has the better long term clay results.

Siniakova has played well on clay during Covid. She reached the quarter finals in Prague last season and also made the third round at the French Open and semi finals in Nurnberg.

This should be a close match with lots of breaks. Some value on Siniakova and I give her the edge to win. Lay Zidansek if she breaks first or if she wins the first set.
