Wimbledon day 4

Hanescu v Devilder

These 2 have only met once and Hanescu retired injured at the end of the first set ( which Devilder won) That was on clay so not really relevent to today’s match. Not amazing value at 1.37 but worth backing Hanescu from the start and greening up after the first set.

Update:  Should have been a nice profit if you follwed my advice 🙂

Mathieu v Berdych

I expect Berdych to win this one but can see the first set or 2 being tight. Both players having a decent season so far with their results reflecting rankings of  38 and 20 respectively. Recommend using the 15-40 or wait for the break before backing.

Update: Thought Mathieu would have put up more of a fight. You should have had a profit from this one too!

Melzer v Becker

Looks like a perfect match for the 15-40. Should be a great match to watch. Both players performed well in round 1. A 4 or 5 setter probably!

Update: Melzer won in straight sets. 2 tiebreaks so I wasn’t a million miles away when i predicted 4 or 5 sets. Plenty of twists and turns which suits the 15-40 perfectly.

Day 3

Fish v Tipsarevic

Looks perfect for the 15-40 method! Fish isn’t my favourite player. I find that players over a ranking of 25 aren’t too consistent ( if they were then they’d be higher ranked!) and Fish is ranked 25. Tipsarevic is no mug and can cause him problems today. Difficult to pick a winner which is why i recommend the 15-40.

Update: Fish won 3-1. First 2 sets were shared so there were plenty of opportunities to profit.

Sela v Shuettler

Sela has won their 2 previous meetings but the market has Shuettler as a strongish favourite at 1.52

Over 67k matched at 9:45 so liquidity is fine. Sela knows how to win this one. Use 15-40 on this one too. Alternatively, wait for the first break of serve before backing and green up at the end of the set

Update: Sela wins in straight sets. Both suggested strategies would have brought a nice profit 🙂

Day 2

Hanescu v Navarro

Hanescu priced at 1.70 on Betfair. Good value if you wanted to back him from the start with a view to greening up when he breaks serve in the first set. Should also be a good match for the 15-40 as I can see enough breaks in the match.

Update: Hanescu won the first set so if you followed my tip you will have had a nice profit

Kvitova v Kirilenko

World rankings on 61 and 59 reflects their lack of consistency. Expect a dour match but with several breaks of serve.  Looks perfect for the 15-40. Green up after each break of serve.

Update: Wasn’t able to follow this game so don’t know if the breaks came from 15-40 situations!    🙁
