Overall results favour Maden in the last 12 months and also in 2020. He also has a slight lead on clay. He has won 7 of his last 10 on this surface.

Maden beat Arthur De Greef in 2 sets as underdog in the last round. He played 15 matches on clay during the lockdown. He won 10 of them. He had a very poor season on clay in 2019.

Laaksonen won a tight 3 setter with Jan Satral in the last round. He only played 1 match during Covid. That was indoors. He hasn’t had good results in 2020. Just 3 wins from 10. He did play well in the last round although only found the court with his first serve 42% of the time. His clay results were stronger in 2019. He had a quarter final, a semi final and took the title in the Rome Challenger in May.
