Bencic has a much better indoor record. She won 33 of her last 50. Sorribes Tormo won 13 of her 27 matches.
Sorribes Tormo reached the q finals last season as a qualifier. She reached the 3rd round at the US Open, the semis in Cleveland, the quarter finals in Montreal and the 3rd round at the Olympics. She usually struggles against the top players.
Bencic lost quite weakly to Samsonova last week. She was perhaps ready for a break after all her success on hard courts. She took the gold in Tokyo and reached the quarter finals at the US Open and in Cleveland.
If Bencic is motivated she should win this. She often starts matches slowly but is usually good at recovering. Lay Bencic around 1.30 to 1.35 and remove liability at 1.70. Back Bencic above 2.00 and remove liability at 1.55.
